Default Seeds and particles

Hi all, ive always been a keen user of hemp and i know there are loads of others on the market so whats everyone else using? I'm thinking of a change, might give red ban a try, can anyone tell me the best way to prepare it, do you think it could be used in conjunction with hemp? The aniseed flavouring and the hemp sounds a great idea to try. Whats everyone think?

Hi matey,
I've not used it before so i'm unsure of preperation times what kind of size are the seeds in the mix? I think adding hemp is a top idea by the way .

Cheers people, after having had a rumage to see what i can find on the stuff ive read there are a few ways in which it can be prepared, i think the easiest is the 24 hour soak and 15 min boil. I also now realise it is called red BAND not red ban, LOL

Thanks for your help

Default particle prep

Hi matey red band just needs covering in boiling water and leaving in an air tight bucket for 24 hrs to be usable. If you have one do the same in a cooler box as this keeps the water warmer longer. As for additves try thaumatinB which is mega sweet. Hope this helps

i've used red band and hemp for a couple of years now. like said before cover with boiling water seal and leave for 24 hours, but whilst its soaking you could add some condensed milk or what you like clouds up lovely.
i get mine from gibbsons pet supplies near delamere for £16 for 25 kg's bloody good stuff mate.

GET ON IT........

be careful with the milk though in the hot weather if your doing a long session it goes off not sure if it will put the fish off though but just be aware of it ,i usually do a 50/50 mix with hemp and call it the bomb explosive stuff mate

Always tend to have a bit of a 'pick and mix' that way getting the good parts of numerous seeds/nuts...etc, but it also gives you the ability to not get the fish munching on one particular food item. For example, I have int he apst used mixes with anything like Hemp, Casters, Tigers, maize, Chick Peas...etc this can then give you a situation to present any of the afore mentioned baits, allowing it to blend in. Also I think that if the fish are spooking off one aprticular item of food/bait, for example if they ar ebeing hammered on nuts/boilies/pelets, a mix can always give you a slight edge.

I guess its the whole 'horses for courses' thing though, what can work well on one water could cause you to blank on another...but provided they're qualtiy ingredients and they are given the chance to sample it a bit then I can't see why most particles won't work, it's just that hemp and the other popular mixes seem to be all thats introduced in to waters....

...if you see what I'm getting at
