Default Ideal bait to cap off yer spod?

What in your opinions is the best bait to use to cap off and prevent spod spill, i know some people aren't too fussed about a little spod spill but i don't really see the point in spodding if your gonna spill half of it 20yards out!

cheers

Either use a bit of groundbait or some scolded pellets, both will do the job. Just make sure you dont squash it down too hard or your spod wont empty

Saw in one of the magazines that vitalin is good for plugging the end of a spod. Dont use too much though or the spod won't empty.
tight lines,
Will

Im pretty new to spodding so forgive my question, but where does it spill out?, i spod about 5kg of bait per session, and other than my first few goes when it went in my hood, it dosnt fall out, i read loads about this, but cant seem to get it to do it.
I use the big fox spods rather than bait riockets, is this the reason?

well if it works mate don't worry about it.

me too phil but it just isn't practical when spodding out say 3kg+ as it takes a bit longer and you get through so much foam!!

i may use vitalin, or just say a carp groundbait from the match section

Ive been using the pocket rockets for a while and found the trick is not to over fill with bait 2/3 is plenty, then top up with water

well last time out iwas spodding hemp with a korda skyliner and some was falling out about 20yards from the bank which is no good to me, i was also only filling 2/3 of the spod. plus i dont like adding water i think it washes some of the initial attraction out a bit

hemp falls out the spod easily so its always best to stodge the mix up with pellets, vitalin etc.

eh the attraction will disperse into the water as it sinks to the bottom, its unavoidable, your comment makes no sense to me matey

yes, but i would rather it disperse out in the lake over my baited area which could be 120yards away than in the margins
