Default tiger nuts fermenting

I have started using dynamite baits tiger nuts, once you have opened the jar and obviously removed the seal how long can they exepct to last? i used half of them already but the other half has already started to frement and although i am aware particles do seem to get better as they ferment in their own juices surely there is a cut off point?

cheers

I refreeze them after each session, just make sure they're covered with liquid so they dont burn

Me thinks that maybe not so good as theyre gonna start drying out and or going off.Personally I would top it up with water that i'd cooked hemp or other particles in.

If you'd had them for a while matey I'd go with wheezy, best safe than sorry, plus I think thats alot of nuts to be using in one go, esp as they aren't that digestible for the carp.If you're concerned about waste try the tin.My guess would be that they're smelling sour now ,rather than having the desirable attractive, slimy coating, best to get fresh if they are.

I get this exact same problem mate, it seems like a waste of money buying a tin and only using a few then not knowing what to do with them after. I have froze them in the past but they still seem a bit funny afterwards. Thinkin of preparing my own this season so i can just make what im gonna use, although i havent really looked into it yet and i hear they are a bit of a pain to prepare yourself. They've gotta be spot on so they are safe for the fish to eat, that is my main concern

Have a look at this thread that Bet posted johnny, follow these simple guidelines and you wont go far wrong, and the bait WILL be safe for the fish

Particle preparation

As far as quantity and storage after preperation, there's nowt wrong with boiling up say 2Kg for example and bagging it all up then freezing after it's prepared.

did you seal them in a bag still in their juices matey? if so they should be fine, without liquid they suffer from freezer burn
