Default Citrus Powder

Does anyone know where I can buy this?

The only place I have ever come across it is a small e-bay shop, but cant find anything on any search engines anywhere else

Seems quite a nice ingredient, but at a fiver for 100g (upto 20g per LB mix) it seems a tad on the expensive side

Bob,

For trying to kill carp, I think you should find me a supplier of 'edible' citrus powder (1 kilo) for less than a fiver including delivery

What makes you think that?

If you want a "nice" ingredient try milk shake powder (the original palatant).

I'm assuming that this is what your looking for, available from health food shops, personally I didnt like the warning part of the products description.
Quote:
Source Naturals Modified Citrus Pectin Powder
Pectin is a soluble dietary fiber, naturally present in some fruits, which cannot be absorbed by the human digestive tract. However, pectin can be pH-modified to shorten the molecular chain, creating smaller polysaccharide fragments that are easily absorbed and utilized by the body. Modified citrus pectin contains galactosyl fractions, with toxin-binding properties... More that may help promote good health. Supplement Facts for powder serving size: 2 teaspoon Amount %DV Modified Citrus Pectin 5 g Suggested Use: Start with 2 teaspoons (5 grams) daily. Gradually increase to 4-6 teaspoons daily. For daily maintenance, 1 to 2 teaspoons can be used. Mix in a blender with 8 oz. of water, juice, or other liquid and drink immediately. Warning: Do not exceed suggested use. Take this product with large amounts of fluids. Without drinking enough liquid, the product may cause constipation. Discontinue use if intestinal discomfort or constipation occurs. If you are pregnant or nursing, on medication, or have diabetes or an intestinal disorder, consult your health care professional before using this product.

Where is that from?

Im more looking for a lemon powder, but citrus powder was what I found and have pursued since.

What I have is from ouronfishing.co.uk or .com but seems expensive.

The flavours you are probably using are N.I. and are on a solvent or possibly oil base. Citrus powder however when added to liquid would form citric acid. I think that is why you get the warnings as in Bets post.
The guy on the web site you have been on seems a bit iffy and unsure about his product. He repeats himself twice in as many lines warning you as to how strong this product is.

The lack of info on this as a possible additive for carp fishing makes me personally dubious. I don`t think it is the next best thing but you may think differently, it is your choice City, just trying to be helpful.

Mancity...i can totally understand your quest for knowledge on all things 'carp baity'
I have noticed however that you are a 'carp angler' of relative inexperience (no offence intended).
May i be so bold as to make a little suggestion to you. The world of carp bait is a complicated affair and your 54 threads started in the carp bait section suggest you are embarking on a mission to make your own bait. I feel that perhaps your efforts are a little misguided at this stage of your 'career'
Wouldnt it be far better to just buy some decent bait ready rolled and done for you therefore you wouldnt be worried about the quality/ingredient quantities. There are dozens of companies out there producing good bait at very good prices nowadays, probably cheaper than you can make it yourself.
You never know if you choose the ready made route you might actually find some time to do some fishing.....

Not heard of Citrus powder mate but Citrus pulp is used in animal feed manufacturing. It is a bye product from the likes of marmalade factories etc and can come in pellet form. You possibly could use it in a spod mix though.....
