I reckon you're right.
Shame they changed them slightly about 10 years ago, these "bait" companies are always messing about.

I have found that some of the cheaper mixers are very good as well. COOP mixers and even ALDI mixers(at 1.60 for 4kg)....

Cant get the bigguns going yet on the top but the pasties have been wolfing down the Aldi mixers

I doubt that the volume anglers buy in constitutes a noticeable amount of Pedigree's mixer sales. There are an awful lot of dogs out there compared to carp anglers!

Pedigree chum mixers changed a few years back and are no longer a great flaoter mainly because a size 8 hook sinks one mixer!

Winalot mixer in the green and blue back superb, they are bigger and oval but one would hold up a size 4 ( not that im suggesting you use a 4!) 10 or 8 hooks for these.

Not found that myself - Size 8 Drennan super specialist or ESP Raptor G4 with a single Pedigree Chum on a band stays up for a very long time. although the Drennan is a medium wire gauge hook I cant comment on much heavier gauge patterns.....

What those seamless hooks like? I like the idea but cant bring myself to use anything other than my regular patterns.

Agree with that, prefer other mixers now to Pedigree Chum.

If you want a good Floating Bait then look at Bakers Complete, different sizes, colours and shapes.

very similar to a korda wide gape with a shorter (not much) shank.
The eye is 'seamless' so they are perfect for the knotless knot.
Well worth a go IMO
I only use em for floater fishing mind you
