Default Carping Terminology Thread Q & A's

Thought it might be a good idea to stick something up with regards to what some wierd words and phrases actually mean. I'll start with a question.

I have already got stuck on here lol....i have read " The Noddy brigade in there yellow argos tents "

Whats that mean LOL..??? and who is the gentleman refering to ??

People who get an Argos rod for XMAS, take up fishing for three months (knowing basically nothing) and then eventually give up

PS - This can also happen in Summer if said Noddy has a birthday in the summer months

their are the 'argos tent noddys' and just 'noddys'

an argos tent noddy is like mancity said, but sadly their are also noddy's that can afford all the gear but still dont have a clue...

"on the Jenson" is a fave of mine.. basically meaning i have cast out and landed it on the 'Button' get it Jenson Button?

think thats more soft southern rhyming slang rather than 'Carping Terminology' . this is 'NORTHERN monkeys'
