Thumbs up Donate a tip

Right guys -

Thought it would be good to have a thread on handy tips and tricks (all of which ONLY fishing related) that you have learnt over the past season

What you reckon?

My contribution -

Dont eat yellow snow only kidding, uni-link swivels are a MUST for me when using in-line leads as they offer more movement and help prevent tangles whilst in cast

When splicing leadcore.. be patient and twist the needle and ease it out instead of pulling it and breaking 3,000,000 needles a year

Always put a PVA nuggart on your hook to protect it and keep it away form debris

Default Check it out !

Before castin out, always check your hookpoint.

Easiest way to check it is by lightly draggin it across your thumbnail, if it digs in your ok, if it slides across your nail, bin it and tie another.

When fishing at night listen for the terminal tackle "splashing" as it lands........if no splash, reel in, turn 180 degrees and repeat the process

set your rods up as far back as possible so your line drops directly down in margin rather than right over the water it makes landing fish and putting backleads on so much easier

If you mark your line wi tape/elastic keep it at the end of your rod tip so its not jamming the alarm or rattleing through the rings. So all you need to do is cast to the marker clip up and put tape just past the last eye and clip up easy!!

when you mark your line walk it off on the bank and have the distance pegged and every now and then check it as your tape/elastic may have slipped
to many tips now lol
