Tapered shockleaders are the way to go 8lb -20lb 12lb-30lb 15lb 50lb as a rule for every 0z of lead 10lb of shockleader must be used ie 3oz lead 30lb shockleader. Ultima do some exellent leaders clear mono used them for years and you will have full confidence in whacking a lead to the horizon
