QUOTE=stotty;75366]have rigs made up incase you get snapped off
take a mobile incase summit happens i.e gang of chavs are anging round[/quote] A phone how about a piece of wood known as a baseball bat thats the only language chavs understand, when fishing rough areas go equiped because they are and a bat has a longer range than a knife so you'll win

1) Most supermarkets do ready made breakfasts in a can, beans, bacon, egg ,sausage etc...whack it all in the pan for a great breakfast with very little fuss.
2) Rather than mess around taking tea, milk, sugar etc for a brew just take sachets of ready made cappuchino available again from most supermarkets. add water walla....finished ! 3) Always rotate ready baited up hook lengths, I always put a metal "quicklink" on the end of my line, so i can just unclip the old hooklength and replace it with ready baited up and PVA bagged one, saves messing around in the night or especially when its chuckking it down, minimum time outside in the elements .4) Always have torches etc VERY close to hand and know exactly where your gear is. AND PUT IT BACK AFTER USE !! 5) Fasten the bottom of your bivvy door up at night about 12 inch to avoid rats coming in your bivvy when your asleep. YES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ! 6) If your fishing a very busy water with no loo, take a few carrier bags with you and take a dump in them in your bivvy ! and like others have said baby wipes come in sooo bloody handy ! i use detol wipes they kill everything and any smells too ! including weils disease !7) Always take spare batteries and gas cannister, for alarms and torches, cooker , lamp etc.... 8) Always... Always.. invest in the very best bivvy and sleeping bag you can possibly afford ...i'm not rich, pretty poor actually, but there's nothing worse than turning round and hearing the dreaded drip ,,,drip,,,drip... halfway through a storm in the middle of the night and being cold and wet to ruin a great fishing trip ! I have moderate quality fishing equipment but the stuff that keeps me warm and dry is the very best there is. and i've always been happy, warm and dry and a few times laughed my head off at less than intelligent individuals who spend all there money on shimano this, XTEA Tribal that lol.... 9) Become a tackle tart and buy all the latest greatest gear then poor folks like me can buy it all off you the following year secondhand and we too can have great gear for half the price. ![]() 10) And oh always treat the carp with the love and respect you'd give a human baby, there very delicate creatures out of the water, there weight really does them harm when there out in the air, return them asap and make sure when unhooking them on the mat the underneath pectoral fin is facing backwards as i've seen many a carless angler rip a pectoral fin by plonking them on unhooking mats !! ![]() Regards Jason.
