Thumbs up Beginners Corner...

I decided to add this one off the back of comments posted by Carpking in the thread we had a while ago about new forum sections, so who knows, maybe he is good for something! (only kidding mate - I think it was a good idea ).

Anyway, it’s meant as an area where newcomers to the sport & forum can ask basic questions about carp fishing without fear of looking silly.

As the title says, we all had to start somewhere, so hopefully our more experienced members will take a little time out to offer help and assistance.

I was thinking that it might be an idea to get a few of our regulars writing brief articles on the basics which we could then stick in this section – if anybody would like to offer help on this then please drop me a line.

In addition I’ll set up an email so that lurkers who haven’t yet joined up can ask a question, which I’ll then post up in here for you guys to offer assistance on. I know Elton did this on Anglers Net and it works really well.

If it works out, we can maybe expand this section into an area of its own in time.

Cheers…

J

The idea of features by members seems very good... we all have something to share (even the tight buggers )

the first thing that any angler should be taught about has to be basic angling etiquette,no dought we all have horror stories of other so called anglers causing mayhem to ourselfs and others.

i agree maybe its time some one wrote down the "unwritten rules"about etiquette.ie keeping a decent distance between your own baits and the guys who has been on the lake before you got there.

i have been known to have th occasional good idea lol, personally i think if you get caught giving bad advice or abuse out in this ection you should get a warning with a month ban of the site as it is aimed towards the less advanced carp angler, oh and no talk of substance use. just a suggestion hope i dont ofend anybody andy

Stigs philosophy

The way i think when i am fishing is:

If i have a special bait or unusual rig/method that works and i catch a kipper if i tell the chap in the next swim of my unusual rig/method or give him some of my special bait or whatever and he catches a kipper or 2 then the nuber of happy people on the bank that day will have doubled from 1 to 2 .
