What about -

If your really bored, why not get up and stretch your legs with a nice lap of the lake. If you get a run, it wont matter as the fish will hook itself and wait for you to come round before steaming away

Get yourself into a decent club mate. It don't eradicate the 'nuggets' altogether but there a far, far less on the bank than your average, badly managed day ticket water

If there is someone fishing on the opposite bank don't cast more than half way across the lake.

Take good care of the fish you catch.

Try and look like you are enjoying yourself (even if you're not). Nobody likes sharing a lake with miserable types - fishing is supposed to be fun!

Mike.

That list even though is meant tongue in cheek, it's what happens on day ticket waters.

That list is as valid as all the serious posts, everything on that list goes on and it's a guide of what not to do.

I'd love to be an Albert ticket holder, if i'd of got my application in last year i would'nt have had to have been placed on the mile long waiting list..

But like you said go to a busy day ticket water watch what they are all doing and DON'T DO ANY OFF IT YOURSELF
totally agree but on an added note if the guy in the next swim is actually casting over to your peg then politely ask him to move it , that really grinds me as well because sometimes people think if they are there before you it entitles them to spread their lines all over the place !

Number one rule mate, enjoy yourself!.....and be courteous!

The fishing is for you!

Don't be swayed by other people judgement, views or decisions....but consider them.

Just becuase you're new to the sport by doing something different doesn't mean it's wrong - usually just what others have forgot or haven't thought of!

It's ok to make a mistake too, but learn by them!

Ask questions, it's the best way to learn.

Oh, and fish safety is paramount!

As for everything else - let common sense prevail!
