No night fishing on Bradshaws unless your a member, and there is also a cost implication with fishing @ Belmont.

By the time you have spent £25 for a couple of nights fishing a week, there will be a few tickets you can buy for less money that will give you the opportunity of getting aquainted with the finer aspects of carping (rigs etc etc)

Victoria & Planets (Moss Bank, Bolton) offers cheap day tickets (£5 for 2 rods, £6 for 3) and should give you plenty of bang for your buck, you can also night fish on there for around £15 a night - Yearly tickets are available for £150, which I find expensive in all honesty, but again should result in a major confidence boost with bagging up - you can fish the top water with fish up to low 20's, although if you ask the old dodderer that owns it he swears there is a 30 in there, and the bottom lake (Victoria) which is completely featurless, 3 - 4 ft deep all the way accross and a very firm bottom (oooooerrrrrrrrrrrrrr missus)

lots of rumours regarding health issues with the fish recently but i havnt witnessed it personally

don't think Planets and Victoria have anywhere near the amount of fish in that they did. Fish kills at numerous times.
I sometimes walk round on my travels and it's nothing like the runs gaff it once was.
I know for certain that many of the better fish died.

One of many in the area.

For waters containing a few to go at i'd look around the wigan area..
Pollys, Fan lodge worthington etc... these are again not what they used to be but more accomdating than those mentioned.

Wyreside has a couple, some of the commercials Greenhalghs for example..

just make sure you have dry nets when visiting these different venues.

fan lodge and polly's are both good for a bend. polly's average fish size is bigger though. fan lodge is rammed with 5-8lb commons. just fan lodge is a nicer tidier quieter water to fish.
