If it doesn't have a waterproof outer skin, then I don't see why not.
Mind you, it will be a tight squeeze in any domestic washing machine.

40 C should be about right.
DON'T put it in a tumble drier afterwards. I did that with mine to air it out just before a session, ended up with a nice burn in the outer lining and some melted filling.

Be Careful mate because if the Waters too Hot it will ruin the backing on the bag...

I Spoke to Nash when my frostbite wanted a wash and they said the best way is to Soak it overnight in warm water using something like Lux non scented detergent. Then thoroghly rinse it out and then spin it and Hang it on the line etc but it must not be put on radiators.

At trakker we get several phone calls each week about this very subject. What we recommend for our bags is to have them dry cleaned ONLY. That way it comes back to you like new, not out of shape, and certainly not with burn marks all over it!! I do no a couple of mates that have washed big snoozes in a domestic washing machine, and they have come out fine, but i wouldnt risk it if i were you.
Or as others have said, just buy a new bag............

Hope that helps.

Thumbs up

I have an old heat control sleeping bag and have just had it washed at the launderette.
To be honest over the years when it has needed a bit of a clean of to the launderette its gone.
was reading this thread the other day so decided to look if there were any washing instructions on the bag.
Result - machine wash at 40 degrees and low heat tumble dry
Must admit when it comes back from the launderette the fibers are all fluffed up and the bag seems twice the size and I'm sure the bag feels warmer
I Would strongly recommend that before you go down this route you make sure that your bag can be cleaned in this manor otherwise you will be very unhappy - always check with the manufacturer first

cheers Slim

if your unsure about anything as ian said use a dry cleaner !
in the trade its a bit of a passing the buck though to be honest as any good dry cleaner should do a test 1st
if anything happens to your bag its then the dry cleaners problem not the makers

i spoke to a dry cleaner and they said to me they couldn't do it cos it was illegal to use the solvent on items you sleep in/under. dunno how true this is, but seems strange that they'd turn custom away for something that wasn't.
