i have a four foot jewel tank have had it running for five years, i must admit to wanting an Oscar but have never got one as i like an active tank with neons and smaller fish! i have to admit its a great hobby and not really hard work with a bit of common sence even small tanks look good but definitely spend the most you can and get the biggest you can afford!
Dependent on the tank you get see if you can give your new filter sponges to a friend and get them to run them with there tank for a few weeks before you get your own that way you can add a few more fish and not have to wait two weeks for filter to cycle and then only add three fish, your filter would be ready to rock!
