1 thing i've used quite abit on weedy lakes is budgie sand, u can pick it up with aniseed flavouring, but i've found just average budgie sand works well.
fill a doubled up ( depending on the strength of ur bags ) pva bag, with budgie sand 1/2 full, tip bag onto its side so the sand is on the bottom, now stick some pellets on top of the sand, then push your hook bait down ontop of this then fill the rest with pellets. an tie up.
the idea is that with the weight of the sand it will push through the thickest of weed, straight to the bottom. then when the bag disolves the sand will push any bottom weed down, hopefully. and the pellets an hook bait will be on top of the sand.
i used this early on last year on bantons, whilst people where leading about for clear spots, i was chucking it into the weed where afew fish where held up. an had 3 fish out.
i agree with smokey, an his pub chuck idea. by not worrying to much about whats on the lake bed, an chucking to showing fish, or areas of weed where the fish are held up, then you should catch them.
as smokey said tho, it all about having the confidence to do it.
