A good week overall despite the floods, etc with 82 carp to the 4 anglers we had on. Serious carpers Patrick and Gurtjen did extremely well and accounted for some cracking fish including 9 x 30’s with 5 of the them over 35lb. Thats good weights when you consider the bulk of the fish have now completed spawning and so are at their lowest weights of the year. The more laid back Werner and Danny had fewer carp but still enjoyed a relaxed week with several new pb’s and lots of laughter. All 4 lads are rebooking for both later this year and for next spring so the week can be counted a great success. All credit to them putting up with the deluge of midweek and still coming up smiling.
Tally is as follows…
35 - 40lb….5 carp
30 - 35lb….5 carp
25 - 30lb….12 carp
20 - 25lb….37 carp
15 - 20lb….17 carp
10 - 15lb….6 carp
The average weights is down of previous weeks, partly through spawning weight losses and partly because the smaller fish seem to be more on the feed than the 20 + carp. The 30+ fish were all nice fish but only one of them was a common which is at odds with previous weeks when big commons were far more in evidence.
