Oh Yes!!

Depends how much money you are looking to part with. For a half decent rod and reel combo capable of landing some lumps, you're probebly looking at a minimum of £40-50, and the sky's the limit.

To have a look at what's around, goon ebay, get into the vintage tackle section, then rods, then whack 'carp' in the search box. Proper vintage carp rods go for strong money, but you can sometimes pick up a bargain if you look for a decent split cane salmon rod or spinning rod, as they will be built much stronger than your average trout rod.

For reels, you're best looking at a Mitchell - loads on ebay, again you can get one that needs a tinker for a few quid, or you can get a fully reconditioned one for about £30.00. Give me a shout if you fancy the latter as I have a contact who has supplied me with a few absolute minters for decent money.

Well worth doing though, adds something 'extra' to the achievement I find.
