Fished an Angling Lines venue that had a few sturgeon in and also got a fair few screamers with nothing on. We put it down to possibly the fish getting under the line and it geting picked up on their dorsal fin

Thought maybe the way that they fed because of their shape, long and low, and that their mouth is behind and below a "snout" could make this happen, rather than a carp up-ending and picking up bait, if that makes sense.
A couple of the fish landed had what looked like grooves cut into the dorsal fin, which was what made this sound possible.
