Nick Slater bags PB Common at Llyn Y Gors

Apr 24,2007 by Adam Bunting

It's been a productive week for anglers at Llyn Y Gors. Stephen May experienced his best ever session at Llyn Y Gors recording fourteen fish including four catfish. Steve fished the "New Bay" in some superb sunshine picking his biggest carp, an 11 lb 4 oz ghostie on a dog biscuit floater. Nine more carp followed up to around the 10 lb mark all on Mainline Fusion boilies. The four catfish were caught on a two different baits, halibut pellets accounted for three fish weighing 19 lb 10 oz, 16 lb 15 oz and 16 lb  5oz, the fourth fell to a popped up squid. Well done to Steve on an excellent weekends work.

Wes Williams caught four fish on a weekend session all on Kevin Nash Peach boilies. Set up on the "Door" swim, Wes had two commons weighing 12 lb 8 oz and 8 lb, an 8 lb ghostie and a 7 lb 4 oz mirror. Ryan Yates was pleased to catch his first catfish of the season weighing 15 lb. Ryan fished 21 mm halibut pellets which also helped him land a lovely 8 lb ghostie. Alongside Ryan on the "Front" was his friend Adam Owen who also fish on the bank, all three were mirrors scaling 12 lb, 10 lb and a third around 8 lb. Adam fished Nash Formula Fish boilies. Nick Slater broke a new personal best with a 21 lb catfish. Nick fished three 21 mm halibut pellets on a hair, a new he had a cat on after a screaming run. A lovely mirror weighing 14 lb also took a liking to the triple halibuts, another two mirrors were also landed on Spicy Shrimp and Prawn boilies.

Nick Slater caught a personal best common at 21lb

Daniel Congrave had a two fish within an hour of setting up on the "Volcano" swim. Daniel had only just dropped his bait in and landed a 10 lb "simmo" mirror on Nash Formula Fish boilies. A second mirror of 12 lb followed only minutes later again on Nash FF boilies. Daniel is a fanatical angler, and his commitment to the sport really pays off with countless fish already this year.

Barrie Thomas was a happy man this past week after banking one of his target fish. Barrie fished the "Aquarium" swim on Thompson's Pool, and although not near one of his biggest fish on the bank, just as pleasing. Barrie netted a gorgeous looking fully scaled mirror of 18 lb during a 48 hour session. His MB Baits Black Extract boilies yet again producing the goods for the Stockport based angler.

Nick Slater also fished a short session on Thompson's Pool a caught a personal best common at 21 lb. Nick fished the "Nightmare" swim on Heathrow Baits Red Indian boilies.
