Wyreside heats up despite chilly conditions

Feb 22,2007 by Julian Grattidge

February has proved to be fantastic month for captures at Lancaster's Wyreside Lakes Fishery.

Sally Hughes informs North West Carp that even when temperatures have been below zero the fish have kept on coming, the last example being Mark Bodell’s capture of Dropscale at 35lbs, caught at -4 degrees at four in the morning!

This amazing result is one of many over the last few weeks which has seen some of the venues most sought after residents gracing the banks at impressive weights. Glad 1 has been out at 32lbs 8 oz, Fully Scale at 32lbs 8oz, Drop Scale at 35lbs and Hover Junior at 28lbs.

Site Editor Julian Grattidge likes nothing more than a good natter about all things carp. Indeed, working from home, his kitchen is usually full of passing waifs, strays, and Northern-Monkey mates who just happen to be passing by. Good Job he’s got a big kettle!
