Three Sessions... Three waters… Three Commons!

May 13,2006 by Julian Grattidge

Lee Donnelly, aka the forum’s ‘Ronin’ has been racking up an impressive tally of commons just lately.

First up was a stunning dark common of 15lb banked during a short midweek evening session on Compstall, where Lee met up with other forum regular Bigted (Mark). Mark did the photos and back she went.

First up, a stunning 15lb’er from Compstall

On a roll, Lee decided to fish Woodbank Park Pool, another Stockport Fed water of about ¾ acre surrounded by woods. Lee took his son out fishing for the bank holiday and was really pleased to catch this one, not only because it gave a great account of itself, but also because there are only believed to be around a dozen carp left in the water. Up on the scales the fish went 16lb – well done dad!

Next was a stunning 16lb’er from Woodbank

Rounding off the trio was a portly little double banked at Toft during Lee’s first visit to the water. The late night common just sneaked into double figures and made it three commons from three venues in three sessions!

Last but not least; a Toft common during Lee’s first visit

Site Editor Julian Grattidge likes nothing more than a good natter about all things carp. Indeed, working from home, his kitchen is usually full of passing waifs, strays, and Northern-Monkey mates who just happen to be passing by. Good Job he’s got a big kettle!
