SOTAS Waters produce the goods during October

Oct 23,2006 by Julian Grattidge

Carp anglers on Stoke-on-Trent angling Society waters have been filling their boots during recent weeks as a steady stream of specimens came to the bank across most waters. ‘The Pretty One’ has been out of Redesmere at over 34lb to Matt Blinstone, and the ‘The Snub’ has also been out to Dan Edgar at a new best weight of 37lb 10oz. As if that’s not enough, Craig Livingstone took a brace including Ring Tail, an immaculate leather, at a new best weight of 36lb 6oz along with another 23lb specimen in mint condition.

With the woods now closed the Top Pool has slowed somewhat, but ‘Five Scales’ has been banked at a weight of 27lb 6oz. Not to be outdone, the Main Lake has been producing countless good fish of late, and last Friday offered up a stunning brace to Andy Freeman who took fish of; 27lbs 10oz and 30lbs 4oz!

Site Editor Julian Grattidge likes nothing more than a good natter about all things carp. Indeed, working from home, his kitchen is usually full of passing waifs, strays, and Northern-Monkey mates who just happen to be passing by. Good Job he’s got a big kettle!
