Pendle View Fishing Report for Weekending 29th May, 2006

Jun 02,2006 by Julian Grattidge

Good morning everyone,

Here is the fishing report for last week.

Main Lake (Pleasure)

A really fantastic weeks fishing with lots of 30lb plus bags reported.  The biggest bag reported this week goes to Bart Holden from Blackburn who caught a 111 lb bag of fish.  Barry fished mid week from peg 31 using feeder with maggots and worms.  Well done Barry.    Neil Haslam was a close second with a bag of 100 lb plus.  Neil said his bag was made up of various bream and a small carp.  There were also several 60lb plus bags reported from a variety of anglers. David Sparkes of Warrington caught a nice 62lb bag of fish using float and feeder.  Dave used red maggot.  Perch, Bream and Roach have shown well this week and the most successful baits have been maggot and worm.  I suspect as the weather warms up we will start to see some really big bags of fish being reported.

Match and Pleasure Lake

This lake did quite well in the warmer spells with bags of 20lb plus.  However fishing was difficult over the weekend due to the cold spells.

Main Lake (Carp)
About twenty carp reported this week ranging from 9lb to 33lb 12oz.   Mick Gill holds the record for last week when he caught the 33lb 12oz common.  You may recall that I sent you all a picture of his catch early last week.  Its been a good week for carp catches and here is a brief summary.   13lb 2oz common, 9lb 6 oz common, 20lb common, 12lb common, 24lb 7oz mirror, 17lb 5oz mirror, 10lb common, 10lb common, 14lb 2oz common, 9lb grass, 11lb mirror, 14lb common, 17lb common.  Paul Jones had a nice catch this week with a 25lb 7oz mirror carp.  Paul fished from peg 56/57 using a strawberry boilie (cyber range) soaked in a home made strawberry dip.  Paul was chuffed as it is his personal best.   Paul was fishing with his mate called Mick and just after Pauls catch Mick landed a nice 17lb mirror carp.  Both lads seemed very pleased with their session.  Just as I was leaving last night an angler called Barry Pease came across to the office to report he had caught a superb 12lb grass carp.  Barry was fishing from peg 48/49.

Paul Jones - 25lb 7oz

Fly Lake

Here are the averages for the week.

Monday  2.0
Tuesday 5.7
Wednesday 4.3
Thursday 5.3
Friday 7.0
Saturday 12.0
Sunday 3.4

Cats whisker, White fritz have done really well this week.

GENERAL NEWS

Two anglers have actually caught tagged fish this week and sadly they had not registered for the competition.  It is just worth reinforcing the fact that anglers have to be registered in order to claim a prize.

Lastly can I thank those anglers who have emailed me this week saying what a wonderful days fishing they have had and how helpful they have found our staff.  It is really nice to be appreciated.  We are all trying very hard to make the Pendle View experience a special one.

Have a good week everyone - look forward to seeing you on the banks.

best wishes
Lin at Pendle View
