Hello everyone hope you are all well. Here is the fishing report for last
week.
Main Lake (Carp)
A great week for carpers with 31 carp caught. Carp
have been falling to Pendle Baits essential fruits, and have been showing all
over the lake. Amongst the best specimens caught last week was a 36lb common
and a 29lb mirror. Pegs 48/49, 71/71, and 65/66 had been the hot spots. Having
logged the catches personally now for the last five years I can tell you that
the bigger fish start to show from October through to February. I am still
waiting to report the 40 plus carp caught and I am hoping that it will not be
long before I can do this. Carp caught were as follows: 12lb common, 7lb
common, 18lb common, 8lb common, 10lb common, 10lb mirror, 22lb mirror, 18lb
leather, 10lb common, 21lb 6oz common, 12lb mirror, 12lb common, 15lb common.
21lb mirror, 16lb common. 9lb mirror. 12lb mirror, 16lb mirror, 14lb common.
16lb common, 14lb mirror, 16lb common. 16lb leather, 14lb 3oz common, 15lb
mirror. We are delighted to annouce that Pendle View has come 14th in the UK
poll of waters. (UK "Angling Times" Carp magazine - September 2006). Last
year we were voted 57th - so we are delighted to let you know that we have moved
up the charts by a considerable amount.
Main Lake (Pleasure)
With recent temperatures dropping fishing has been
hard. Bream and skimmers are still showing. Fishing short pole and using
caster and hemp seem to be winckling the better perch. Stephen Roberts landed a
nice 2lb 6oz perch during on Saturday. Better roach with long pole using chop
worm and caster and hemp seem to be scoring the better roach.
Doughnut Lake
Fishing has been quite slow due to the recent drop
in temperature. Maggot, hemp and caster are helping. Carp are still showing.
The best results have been on super marine pellet with ringers bag up pellet and
liquid predictor plus.
Fly
Quite a few large brownies have been caught.
Please remember that brown trout are out of season and we respectfully ask that
no brown trout must be taken.
Black buzzer and small dries seen to be scoring
well for brownies, whilst appetizers, and white cats whisker seem to be doing
well on a variable retreive.
Here are the averages for last week.
Monday 2.7
Tuesday 1.0
Wednesday 0.5
Thursday 2.5
Friday 6.5
Saturday 1.9
Sunday 3.9
GENERAL
Last week we had our yearly visit from CEFAS and
the chap that came to do our health check said that he visited fisheries up and

be doing something right.
