Newton-le-Willows A Asc Match & fishery News, 10-4-08.

Disabled & over sixties, weekly members match. 3-4-08
The match was fished on the upper pound section of the Sankey canal, Thirteen anglers took part in the twenties and thirties pegs. The winner was Jeff Clare on peg 35 with silvers and a f1 carp on long pole and caster for 6lbs-13ozs-0drms. Second place went to Dave Noble on peg 37 with all silver fish on pole and pinky for 5-13-0. Third place was Bob Wrench on peg 25 with silver fish to short pole and caster for 3-0-0. This match takes place each Thursday morning for all our disabled and over sixties members draw is at 10-30 Upper pound car park just turn up and have ago.

Harry’s Tackle Spring League Round two,
Lower pound,6-4-08 The winner of the second leg in this ten match series was Sean Calland  on peg 130, with four tench on long pole and red maggot for 7-14-0 Second place went to Brian Aspinall on peg 126 with all silver fish to long pole and pinky for 3-6-0. Third place went to Terry Jones with silver fish on peg 122 for 1-7-0.

Disabled & Over Sixties Weekly Members Match, 10-4-08.
The match was fished in the 70s and 80s pegs this week on the Upper pound of the Sankey Canal. This weeks winner was Eddie Cook on peg 70, with bream, tench and silver fish on pole and maggot for 6-4-0. Second place went to Dave Noble, on peh 79, with Bream and roach on pole and worm for 5-7-0. Third place was Dennis Bates, on peg 77, with a bream and a tench on pole and worm for 4-13-0. Fourth place went to Stan Charnock with ide’s on pole and maggot for 3-9-0. Permits are now out and in the shops, or at Head quarters on Monday and Tuesday nights 8-30, throughout April, Newton Social & cabaret club Patterson St,( off Cross Lane) new seniors please bring two small photos for your security pass.
