Monument Monster breaks PB for Dave

Apr 04,2006 by Nige Weston

Dave Robinson from the Wirral pitted his wits against the carp of The Monument Carp Fishery, Shropshire, on a recent session with a friend.

The 24-hour session proved successful for Dave, who fished a GLM Pellet over a PVA bag of smaller pellets at 60 yards range. A bed of around two pints of maggots were just one aspect of Dave's armoury, which caused the downfall of the 30lb 8oz mirror.

The fish picked up Dave's bait around half an hour after casting, and after a twenty-minute battle was in the net around 9.30pm. Despite the fact that it was the only carp of the session, Dave was still pleased with his Personal Best, especially for the time of year!

Site Editor Julian Grattidge likes nothing more than a good natter about all things carp. Indeed, working from home, his kitchen is usually full of passing waifs, strays, and Northern-Monkey mates who just happen to be passing by. Good Job he’s got a big kettle!
