Chris Burgess sets new record for Llyn Y Gors Old Carp Lake

Chris Burgess has set a new Old Carp Lake record with a 31 lb 6 oz whacker, also breaking his personal best by over 15 lb.

It was Chris' first ever session on the Old Carp Lake and what a way to start!!. Chris fished the "New Bay" tempting the stunning "Simmo" mirror with a single Mainline Maple 8 pop-up.

John Wilkes fished an evening session on the Old Carp Lake landing two mirrors weighing 14 lb and 16 lb. John fished Roger's swim in some nasty weather conditions which made the brace even more pleasing. John's nephews Kyle Kapper and Jenson Yates fished the Children's Lake landing over 40 lb of fish between them, Jenson managed a carp of 6 lb 6 oz during the day his biggest ever carp. Well done to The Wilkes family.

Mark Davidson netted two fish on a 48 hour session on "Derek's Mountain". Mark opted for Solar Baits GLM 15 mm boilies and caught a mirror of 8 lb followed by a cracking ghostie of 13 lb.

Marc Ward banked a superb triple during a 48 hour session on Thompson's Pool. Marc fished "The Well" catching mirrors of 20 lb and 22 lb and a common over 18 lb. Solar's brilliant GLM pop-up continues to work for the Manchester based angler.

Matt Burns caught an 18 lb common on his 72 hour session on Thompson's. "The Aquarium" was his choice of swim and picked the fish off a tree snag close in around 20 yards. Matt fished 10 mm B2 boilies presented in small PVA bags with Betaine pellet.
