Llyn Y Gors Fishery Report 23rd July 2006
Top sport on both specimen lakes through some of the hottest weather the country has seen in a long time. Junior angler Tom Webb caught a personal best 15lb common during a night session on the Old Carp Lake. Tom fished "Steve's Swim" and tempted the beautiful looking fish on Kevin Nash Scopex Squid Liver boilies.

Danny Wilkinson also beat his personal best with a cracking common of 18lb during a 24 hour session in "The Old Bay". Danny fished Smartbaits' CSL boilies. Caravan site resident Gary Risley banked two fish during a short day session, two commons of 10lb all on Smartbaits' CSL.

Steven Taylor fancied the Old Carp Lake in search of a catfish and wasn't disappointed with a cracking fish of 24 lb 3 oz. Steve fished "The Door" swim with Smartbaits' 21 mm Halibut Pellets also catching a 15 lb mirror on Mainline Strawberry boilies. Brothers Richard and Simon Buy spent the past week in Cedar Lodge spending most nights on the Old Carp Lake and both caught some stunning fish. Simon landed five catfish of 14 lb, 15 lb 8 oz, 17 lb 12 oz, 19 lb and 22 lb 4 oz all caught during the night on 21 mm halibut pellets. Richard had catfish of 23 lb 8 oz and 19 lb over the week.
Andrew Paynes caught ten fish to 10 lb during his session on the Old Carp Lake. Andrew fished "The Door", all ten on Nash Tangee Squid boilies. Antony Lickley had a good first session on the Old Carp Lake with six fish, the biggest 13 lb 2 oz. Antony fancied "The Point" swim after spotting fish topping in the swim, all six were caught on bottom baits, Mainline Maple 8 and Pro - Activ Pineapple boilies doing the trick.
Rhys Lewis was over the moon with a new personal best, a immaculate common of 22 lb 12 oz. Rhys had already lost what he called a "Beauty" so made this fish even more pleasing. Rhys was in the "Aquarium" swim fishing Source boilies.
