KARPIUM LAKE HOSTS THE WALES CARP MASTERS 2007

Countless fish fish were caught with a combined weight of over 1000lb. The first fish landed within just 3 minutes from the start of fishing fell to Llandegfan resident Martin Thomas, a mirror of 12lb. Martin ended the session with 15 fish to 15 lb 8 oz. Martins son Lee caught a personal best 15 lb 10 oz mirror, which fell to a L1 boilie over a small pva bag of pellets. Simon Atkins of Llanfairfechan landed 17 fish including a mirror to 18 lb.

Justin Holmes had a massive 35 fish catch totaling over 200 lb of weight. All fish were caught on L1 boilies. Caravan resident Mark Davidson finished his session with 7 fish including 1 common, the biggest a chunky 14 lb 10 oz simmo, again caught on Llyn y gors L1 boilies. Colwyn bay angler Dave Rutledge had 12 fish including the current lake record, an 18 lb 10 oz mirror during a 24 hour session. Dave fished a variety of baits including L1 and Pineapple pop-ups. Joe Blake had a 16 lb mirror on meat whilst Dan Congrave did one better with 2 fish around the 12 lb mark. Limited places on 7 further sessions planned this year are available. A further 135 fish to 30 lb with be stocked in the winter months prior to the official opening in march 2008.

Across on Thompson's pool Charles Taylor caught a personal best 30 lb 8 oz mirror. Charles had only been waiting 36 hrs for his first Llyn y Gors 30!. Charles fished the double bay,a Richworth KG-1 boilie was found far too tempting for the third 30 already this year. Ian Jones netted a 22 lb 8 oz mirror during his 48hr session next to Charles in the double bay. Ian opted for Thompsons pool on his arrival, proving to be a wise choice for the Manchester based angler.
