Dan Goddard: Shakerly Mere brace

Dan Goddard has managed yet another good catch of 2006, aside from his sessions on Moreton and Mill Cottage Fisheries. His target venue this time was Shakerly Mere, Cheshire. He targeted the venue with his cousin, and opted to fish the carp park swim, after seeing a set of bubbles when they arrived. He cast his baits to the spot, and shortly after setting up his pod, he took a lovely mirror of 16lb 14oz.

Dan’s suspicions were that the fish had moved on, and so took upon a roving approach and went in search of fish. He opted for a swim around six pegs up from where he had taken his 16lb specimen, and shortly after was rewarded with a 25lb 6oz Mirror.

His venue and swim selection proved successful on the day, and with a few cracking spring fish under his belt we’re sure we’ll be hearing more from Dan, as he tackles SOTAS venue, Astbury Mere.
