Astbury 28lb Common

Jan 30,2006 by Julian Grattidge

It has been reported that Stoke-on-Trent Angling Society’s Astbury Mere has produced a 28lb common within the last week. It’s understood the angler was on the water checking depths when he spotted fish. As such, a bait was offered in the area and two hours later the fish was banked. The 43-acre mere has already produced fish to over 30lb since the Society took control of the fishing, and this latest capture reaffirms the potential of what as yet, is still much of an ‘uncharted’ water.
