Thirty Five Pound Common Graces the banks at Pendle

Oct 24,2007 by Lin Davies

Hello everyone,

We are enjoying some really nice weather at the moment and lots of our anglers have been making the most of it. Fishing results have been quite good. Here is the fishing report.

Main Lake (Carp)
The catch of the week goes to Mark Webster who fished over the weekend and caught a nice 35lb common. I am waiting for Mark to send me a photie of the fish so I can post it to the web site. Mark fished peg 61/62 and used pop corn and maize. Mark also caught a nice 15lb common. Other fish brought to the bank are as follows: 10lb 4oz common, 8lb common, 7lb 8oz common, 16lb common, 8lb common, 13lb mirror, 11lb 8oz common, 15lb common, 8lb 8oz common. and a 10lb 4oz common.

Main Lake (Pleasure)
Brian Packer reported a nice 20lb bag of roach and perch during the week. Brian used worm and fished peg 23. Danny Wainwright of Mellor fished us for the first time and caught a nice 25lb bag of silvers. Thank you Danny for your nice email - yes we are very proud of our waters and we are glad that you enjoyed your first session with us. Average bags seem to be around the 10-15lb mark. Maggots and worm seem to have brought the best results.

Doughnut Lake (Pleasure)
Records indicate that there have been a few 25lb bags of fish caught this week. These have mostly been made up of bream and carp. Pegs 90, 98, and 104 have shown the best yields.

Fly Lake
The old fly lake has fished really well. Mike Towers had a great session when he fished a 6 hour ticket and landed 35 fish on fritz and montanna. Well done Mike. Steve Steed also had a great session with a 4 hour ticket using cats and fritz. Steve landed 20 fish. Ian Morris also caught 16 trout on a 4 hour ticket. Results have been great this week so the averages are very high. Cats, Black buzzer, montanna, eggs. white and orange fritz have brought the best results. Here are the averages for the week.
Monday 2.6
Tuesday 6.5
Wednesday 10.0
Thursday 10.0
Friday 12.2
Saturday 4.5
Sunday 6.0

General
The Harnick family (the new owners) have been visiting the site for most of the week. They are wanting to meet with our anglers and introduce themselves to you all. They are also keen to get feedback and suggestions from you all with regard to their future plans for the venue. We think they have some great ideas. We are of course awaiting the actual sale date to be confirmed by our respective solicitors. We are all planning on the end of October being the sale date, but I guess we are all in the solicitors hands with regard to the final date. I will of course keep you all posted just as soon as we are made aware of it. Once again thank you all for those very kind emails you have sent. Well folks thats all for now.

best wishes
