Eight Years in the Making; 24lb Astbury mirror for Rob

May 08,2006 by Julian Grattidge

After eight years of trying, Rob Longstaff finally achieved his target of catching a carp off the bottom at Stoke-on-Trent Angling Society’s Astbury Mere!

Rob has taken many fish from Astbury over the years, but they have all been surface captures, so this stunning 24lb 4oz mirror which Rob took from ‘One’s Company’ swim on Saturday morning came as ample reward for his continued efforts.

This fish fell to one piece of maize fished over nine spods of hemp fished approximately eight yards from the bank. A big thumbs up from all at NWC.
