Venue Profile: Knypersley Cricket Ground Pool, North Staffs

Apr 13,2006 by Nige Weston

Knypersley Cricket Ground pool is situated in Knypersley, North Staffs, behind the cricket ground at Knypersley Sports Club. The venue is nearly 2 acres in size, and holds good stocks of coarse fish including some specimen carp. The shape of the pool is more elongated than round, and consists of both a shallower end and a deeper end, surrounded by reeds and other such undergrowth.

Wind is often a prevailing factor for the carp fishing, and the eighty or so carp run to over 20lb. The average size is around 10lb, and as such, the pool is known as a 'runs water'.
